Pathirana missed the introductory game CSK against the Indians in Mumbai (Mi) as head coach Stephen Fleming revealed that he was recovering from injuries. However, Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad revealed that the young fast pitch will play against the RCB after winning the throwing and decided to mix first.
Pathirana replaces Nathan Ellis in the XI game, which registered the figures of 1/38 in four overs against Mumbai. Sri Lankan Speedster was preserved CSK for Rs 13 crore before mega auction. On the other hand, RCB also made one change in its playing XI for Blockbuster meeting when they brought an experienced fighter Bhuvnesshwar Kumar instead of young Rasikh Salam.
IPL 2025 CSK vs RCB update
Salam did not have an unforgettable trip in the opening game when he escaped 35 runs in three overs and released Sunil Narine. Bhuvneshwar will make their debut for RCB after it was purchased for Crore RCB RCB in Mega-Auction.
Both teams started their campaign for the winning note when RCB beat Kolkata Knight riders with seven goals in the seasonal opener. On the other hand, CSK defeated Mumbai Indians with four goals.
