CHENNAI: These are tough times for Chennai Super Kings. Three straight losses have put them in a tough spot and they can look at their opponents with some envy when they take on Delhi Capitals’ best players here at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Saturday. DC have been on a high, winning two out of three and coming close in the third game, with their success largely built on CSK’s two dismissals in Lungi Ngidi and Sameer Rizvi.

Rovman Powell reacts after KKR’s heartbreaking home defeat ČSK bought Ngidi from an auction in 2018, when he was practically an unknown quantity. He took 11 wickets that season and played a significant role in CSK’s winning run. However, he subsequently fell out of favor and was released by the franchise. It has now been picked up by DC for 2 cr. But Ngidi himself said that it was during his time with CSK that he learned the tricks that have made him a force in recent times. “I worked with Dwayne Brave at CSK, I worked on my slower balls and yorkers and that is doing wonders for me now,” said Ngidi.CSK, meanwhile, have been desperate for a pacer ahead of the auctions this season. But they overlooked Ngidi and went for Matt Henry, Nathan Ellis and Zak Foulkes, who didn’t exactly set the stage on fire.
