
MS Dhoni (BCCI/IPL Photo) Chennai Super Kings (CSK) CEO Kasi Viswanathan said veteran wicketkeeper MS Dhoni will play in all the matches of the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL). However, the final decision on his exact role will be made by the team management.The 19th edition of IPL will start on March 28 and all the teams have already started their training camps. The players who recently participated in the T20 World Cup will soon join their teams and start preparing for the tournament.

There were fears that CSK legend Dhoni might not play all the matches of IPL 2026 due to his age, but CEO Kasi Viswanathan dismissed the fears saying, “I think he will play all the matches.Asked what role he is likely to play in the tournament with another wicketkeeper Samson now in the squad, he added: “I can’t say that. That is a cricketing decision that will be taken by the cricket staff. Not the administrative staff. So they will decide whether he will play as a batsman or as a wicket-keeper batsman or as a batsman.”Expressing pride in franchise players Sanju Samson and Shivam Dube for the match-winning performances in Team India’s T20 World Cup-winning campaign, he said, “We are very happy that India has won the World Cup, that they have won it back-to-back. We are delighted because two of the CSK players, Sanju and Shivam, have performed very well in Team Dube. CSK here too,” he said.When asked about the players’ preparation in the camp, he said: “Training is going well, no problems so far.”
