Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao has directed the power department officials to speed up work on renewable energy projects started across the state and fix a timeline for their completion.
Officials are instructed to study the power-related projects being implemented in Rajasthan and Gujarat and take steps to emulate them while rolling them out in distribution companies in the state.
The chief secretary gave the instructions during a meeting with senior officials on Thursday to review the functioning of power, IT and other departments. The meeting was attended by officials from IT, health, mining, irrigation, city administration and other departments.

Officials should review the status of ongoing works in the Northern and Southern Power Distribution Companies and ensure that planning is in line with emerging needs in the future.
