The inhabitants of Vadodary were shocked on Thursday evening after a long crocodile on the road Vishari Vishwamitri Bridge Road was over eight feet. An unusual view brought a stop because many people have attracted to watch and shoot reptiles on their phones.
The videos that have become viral since then show that the crocodile stops in the middle of the road before suddenly rushes towards the crowd, perhaps in an effort to scare a group of screams and enthusiastic viewers. The incident occurred near the bungalow of the Commissioner, near the Narhari Hospital – an area near the Vishwamitri River.
The local authorities responded quickly and safely saved the crocodile and later, according to India report, released it back into the river today. The Vishwamitri River, which flows through the default, is home to nearly 300 crocodiles along its 17 kilometer section. Such observations usually increase during the monsoon period, when the rising water levels bring animals to residential areas.
This event caused a wave of reactions to social media. One user wrote: “Thank God that it is safely saved than people did something about it.” Others commented: “The roads are not safe enough for people and now wants to bypass this person.” The third person added: “Gujarat government set up breeding crocodiles in the Vishwamitra River … So during the monsoon, when the water reaches the edges, it is a normal look.”
Although it is surprising, this is not the first time that such an incident occurred. Last year, heavy rains also caused the river to overflow, leading to similar scenes to how crocodiles went to urban areas. As the monsoon season intensifies, these meetings are expected to become more frequent, with crocodiles moving above their usual habitats and life in the city.
