Cristiano Ronaldo has once again revealed the ambitions that have defined his career, making it clear that the 1,000-goal milestone is not a distant dream but a goal he fully expects to achieve. “This is one of my favorite events because I meet incredible people, including my wife. It’s challenging to keep playing, but I still have the passion and I’m motivated to keep going.”
“It doesn’t matter if I’m playing in the Middle East or Europe. I want to keep winning titles and reach the milestone that everyone knows. I’m sure I’ll get there if there’s no injuries. Have a good night and happy new year.”
Ronaldo’s confidence is fueled by form rather than nostalgia. His recent brace in Al-Nassr’s 3-0 win over Al-Akhdoud took his career tally to 956 goals, clear of the four-figure mark. The win also marked Al-Nassr’s 10th consecutive win in the Saudi Pro League, keeping them top of the table with a perfect start to the season. Ronaldo and Joao Felix are now level on 12 league goals in the Golden Boot race.
Despite occasional debate over his international role following Portugal’s turbulent qualifying phase, head coach Roberto Martinez has consistently defended Ronaldo’s place, citing his influence, professionalism and performance. Even at almost 41, Ronaldo continues to deliver at a level that most players never reach in their prime.
With 40 goals already in 2025 and his physical condition still elite, Ronaldo’s pursuit of 1,000 goals is no longer symbolic.
