According to CricbuzzIn the ICC letter of 2 May 2025, they strive to clarify the properly and corrective measure taken after Khan and former league treasurer Syed Wajahat Ali were charged for incidents between 2014 and 2016.
ICC correspondence requires detailed information on the recruitment process, whether the directors were informed of the accusation before Khan’s appointment when the Board of Directors learned of the investigation and what measures in the administration. The letter emphasized the severity of the accusation against Khan regarding his behavior as a cricket manager.

Cricket Canada announced the investigation of the accusation against Khan in April, but no updates have been provided since then. Khan denied any unlawful conduct.
“The news of my arrest is completely false,” Khan said.

Provincial administrators stated that the Calgary case was known in local cricket circles before the administration of fees, thus creating a difficult situation to prove proper care in the appointment process.

Significant commercial changes followed Khan as the CEO. After the 25 -year contract with Bombay Sports, GT20 owners in December 2024, Cricket Canada founded a new long -term agreement with the National Cricket League Canada on the operation of the GT20 brand.
The NCL partnership brought control because ICC has forbidden them to accept sanctions for future events due to repeated violations. Three directors stated that the NCL contract was approved without sharing complete conditions with the Council.
