Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Development Limited plans to set up a battery power storage system (BESS) 250 Megawatt (MW)/1100 MWh capacity along with a solar photovoltaic project of 250 MW capacity in the PAKAPTE district in the Pavagada district park.
This is the first Bess to set up in a solar park spread over 13,000 acres. It is set to deliver peak power and optimize the use of the grid. This new project will appear in 1,000 acres in the villages of Annadanapura and Reddivarahalli in Tumacur.
The crediting that demanded the offer will provide developers to rent the land for setting up the race. The whole project will be developed on the basis of competitive offering on the basis of a building (BOO).
“Bess is set up because we want to use energy generated during the sundial in the non -volume lessons and thus optimize the use of the grid,” said Gaurav Gupta, another main secretary, energy department. He also said that Bess, which is a relatively new concept, is set up in various capacities on various projects.
The developer will also have to set up a transmission network with the primary goal of supplying solar and bess energy to the company supplying electricity (ESCOMS). Projects must be designed to connect to the Karnataka Solar Power Development Corporation Corporation Limited (KSPDCL) 220 kv.
“Bess must be used to store energy from solar PV during the period of restriction of the grid to which it can occur at any time during the solar energy production hours, and this is usually expected between 8:00 and 16:00 and 4:00 a day, daily on daily basis.
Energy generated from a solar project that would not be evacuated from the race to limit the grid (partial or full) must be stored in Bess. During partial energy evacuation, Bess is injected into the grid. At least 80% of the gross production of solar plants should be stored in Bess in a year.
At the beginning of this year, KJ George Minister said that while the work is to increase the production capacity of Pavagada with another 2,000 MW, bess will also be established about 2,000 MW for proper use of solar energy.
