
Credit connection £365 Crore for self -service groups (SHG) in Goa seized thousands of women to establish small businesses based on services, said Chief Minister Sawant in Panaji 1 July.
Sawant, who addressed the concave of bankers in the state capital, appreciated the key role of financial institutions in the financing of SHG. The event was organized by the Mission Goa State Rural Liveliography Mission (GSRLM) and participated in the higher officials, representatives of the banking sector and SHG.
“During the financial year 2024 to 2025, SHG received in Goa credit connection in value £365 crore. This financial support seized thousands of women to establish small enterprises, agriculture and launched service -based businesses, ”Sawant said as he spoke in the Conclave.
What is the connection of credit?
The connection of loans concerns the process of interconnecting individuals, groups or entities with formal financial institutions, especially banks to facilitate access to loans and other credit facilities.
The Chief Minister called on the banker to further simplify the access to loans and to increase Hand Hand for SHG, especially in the field of digital literacy, financial awareness and business. When the financial institutions walk alongside our country women, a real change begins, the main minister said.
Sawant said that GSRLM has helped transform lives on local areas, leading to the creation of more than 3,250 SHG, which positively affected more than 43,000 households.
“These groups are not just financial entities, but they are also stories about hope, courage and confidence. They are not only paper numbers, but are represented by women who have decided to rise, take their livelihoods and inspire others,” added the chief minister.
On the occasion, Sawant said that 170 women led by SHG were emphasized and 14 canteens were launched as part of the Swayampurn Goa in 2023 in Mukhyamantri Annapurna.
These groups are not only financial entities, but they are also stories about hope, courage and self -confidence.
“These dining rooms provide hygienic food and offer rural women stable income,” he said.
