Create a specialized traffic management office: CM

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has directed officials to set up a dedicated traffic management and road safety office to ensure scientific planning and continuous monitoring of traffic across the state.

After reviewing traffic management arrangements with senior officials, he said the organizational structure of the proposed office should be designed after a comprehensive study to enable it to address emerging traffic issues through a long-term institutional framework.

Mr. Reddy directed officials to conduct a review every two to three months to assess the traffic situation and evaluate measures needed for better traffic regulation. He asked officials to prepare traffic management plans taking into account factors such as changing weather conditions, office hours, peak traffic periods and local travel patterns.

He further called for the development of a signal-free transport system in Hyderabad by building underpasses and elevated corridors wherever needed.
