CPM condemns ‘police action’ at party headquarters in Delhi

The Communist Party of India (Marxist) staged a protest in Visakhapatnam on Wednesday, condemning the alleged police action at its AKG Bhavan headquarters in New Delhi. The demonstration was moved from Sitaram Yechury Bhavan in Maddilapalem to the main road.

Addressing the protesters, CPI(M) state secretariat member V. Rambhupal and former GVMC leader B. Gangarao said the police had illegally entered the party office and accused the BJP-led Union government of undermining democratic rights.

They also criticized the reported attempt to arrest SFI All India Vice President Aishe Ghosh and alleged that old cases were being revived to target student leaders.

The CPI(M) has warned of nationwide protests if the Center continues its “repressive” measures against the democratic movement.
