CPI(ML) Liberation will conduct a ‘sankalp yatra’ in Bihar’s Bhojpur area on October 26 to mark the 15th death anniversary of its Dalit leader Ram Naresh Ram and also launch its manifesto for the upcoming assembly elections, party sources said.
The Sankalp Patra of the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) Liberation will be the guarantee of the realization of the Mahagatbandhan manifesto, they said.
The Mahagatbandhan, which includes the Congress, the Rashtriya Janata Dal and the Vikassheel Insaan Party besides the CPI(ML), the Communist Party of India and the Communist Party of India (Marxist), is set to release its manifesto for Bihar on October 28.
Popularly known as Parasji, Ram was a member of the Bihar Assembly from 1995 to 2010 and one of the founder members of the CPI (ML). October 26 marks 15 years since his death.
The CPI(ML) in Bhojpur district will be organizing a 10-km padyatra to commemorate his legacy.
The yatra will start from the historic village of Ekwari, identified as the birthplace of the CPI(ML) in Bihar and associated with founding leaders Jagdish Master, Ram and Rameshwar Yadav.
The Jatra will end on the banks of the Sone where the statue of Ram has been installed.
“The idea behind the yatra is to push the agenda of the people’s movement and ensure that the agenda of the MGB is the agenda of the Dalits, the poor, the marginalized and the downtrodden,” a party source said.
At the end of the yatra, the CPI(ML) will release its ‘sankalp patra’ (election manifesto) for the people of Bihar.
“This will be a program that will emerge in the people’s movement and will reflect the aspiration of the Badlo Bihar Nyay Yatra,” the source said. This people’s manifesto will be the main document for the party’s future policies, the source added.
