The liberation of General Secretary of India (Marxist – Leninist), Dipankar Bhattacharya, on Friday (July 11, 2025), raised serious concerns about the approaching the introduction of special intense revisions (Sir) of election roles in West Bengal, which could lead to the meat of the voters.
“It is no secret that what is happening in Bihar will start very soon in West Bengal. The Indian Election Commission openly stated that this exercise would be performed in all states. It came as a shock to Bihar, but people from West Bengal were warned,” said Mr Bhattacharya.
Mr. Bhattacharya, who dealt with a press conference in Calcutta, said that, like Bihar, Sir could potentially leave “multiple Crores” from electoral roles in West Bengal, especially affecting migrant workers and students.

“The migrant workers of the West Bengal are in terrible state throughout the country. They are attacked in Odisha, Maharashtra, Haryana; they are offended, murdered. The terms Bangladesh and Banglabhasi (Bengal speakers) are switched and only mutual relations.
Mr Bhattacharya said that this problem is currently under court control, while hearing the Supreme Court is questioned by the legality of Sir. He noted that the outcome of the proceedings would apply not only to Bihar, but to all countries where inspection exercises are planned.
Sir condemnation, CPI leader (ML) demanded extended protests and public mobilization.
