The West Bengal Unit Communist Party of India (Marxist) or CPI (M) on Thursday (August 14, 2025) built its weight for fresh protests “Night Regeneration”, which took place tonight (August 14, 2025).
“In this state, they are culprits for most crimes, especially against women, in a government that is commissioned by their punishment. Women’s rights, survival, security and employment … So this evening it was said on Thursday that women all over the state.
Just a year back, thousands of people around the state went to the streets on the eve of Independence Day to participate in the protests of “Reclaim The Night”, which called groups of civil society for women to “gain” public spaces after dark. This was followed by an abominable rape and murder of a female doctor in the service of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital (RGKMCH) last year of August 9.
“August 14 last year, when thousands protested at night outside RGKMCH, I saw from our protest website that the police staff fled from the hospital as the crowd entered the premises. The police returned after an hour after the crowd carefully destroyed, especially CCTV cameras, especially CCTV cameras.”
For context, during the regeneration of night protests last year, violence broke out in RGKMCH space late at night, when a large unidentified crowd vandalized the emergency building of the hospital, damaged property, medical equipment and furniture.
The leader of the CPI (m) claimed that despite their parties, he provides visual evidence of local miscreants who vandalized the hospital to help their arrest, the police reportedly convened and interrogated the innocent protesters who demonstrated peacefully.
“Everyone was convened, except for a crowd who vandalized the hospital, the culprits associated with rape and murder, and those who dealt with evidence manipulated corruption and syndicates. They were spared,” Mukherjee said.
She added that she quoted various recent crimes against women in the state, and through his enforcement of the right to continue his movement against the injustice, torture and allegedly concealing the government of injustice.
CPI (M) announces women’s social care programs
On Thursday, when Mamata Baerjee celebrated the Kanyashree Day to promote the Social Security system for school girls, Mrs. Mukherjee also announced that CPI (M) would present a lot of women and girls’ strengthening programs across the districts to promote education, financial literacy, physical condition and skill.
“We will unite the women of the inhabitants of each panchayat and the department and build female advice throughout the state. The work has already taken off. Our goal is to bridge economic and social gaps, to expand the awareness of health, mentally seize, provide legal assistance, end school and perform self -defense and sports class,” she said.
