Members of the Indian Communist Party (Marxistist) organized a blockade on the road in Tiruchi on Friday and demanded its closure. They argued that the garbage landfill was an environmental risk.
“For the Past 30 Years, A Large Quantum of Waste Collected Daily from All 65 Wards of the Tiruchi City Corporation HAVE Been Dumped Across 47.7 Acres in Ariyamangalam. Over Time of Surrounding Areas Have Long Raised Concerns Over Groundwater Contamination, Toxic Air, Obour, and the Spread of Vector-Borne.
“In response to the public shout of the previous Government AIADMK launched a project of biological mining of 49.98 ₹.
The protesters urged the government to explore the delay.
The protest was led by Ariyamangalam, Ukkadai and Kattur-Palakkarai. The district secretary Gi Vetri Selvan led to the courtyard, some briefly surrounding the earth’s driving force that worked there and increased the slogans against corporation. The protesters left the place in the police intervention.
