
A member of the CPI (M) Y. Venkateswara Secretariat condemned the demolition of 80 houses built in the reconnaissance numbers 211/2 and 218/1 in Tirumala Nagar Panchayat of Tirupati Urban Mandal allegedly by some hired Gooni.
Mr. Rao visited the site and assured the victims that CPI (M) would expand support to them. He called on the main Minister N. Chandrababa Naida to take steps against those who are responsible for demolition.
” Despite the police intervention, Gooni continued with destruction. They threw gold, cash and other valuables and took away gas war, TVs and other household items in tractors. The demolition was carried out at midnight using seven JCBs and about 300 hired goons, ”he said.
Even the houses that were registered had the revenue of the house tax, electricity meters, and the connection of Panchayat were not spared, said, adding that it showed that “bulldozer culture” has now entered Andhra Pradesh.
Police and income authorities must victims justice, rebuild demolished houses and provide protection to affected families, he said.
