The State Secretary of the Communist Party of the India (CPI) K. Ramakrishn demanded that the central government to abolish four working laws that claim to change workers to corporate slaves. He spoke on Wednesday during the protest in Ongola.
The protest was part of the national “Bharat Bandh” organized under the auspices of the Center for Indian Trade Unions (City), Left Parties, Samyukta Kisan Morch and other public associations to oppose the anti-worker, anti-farmers and Pro-Corporate Police.
Mr. Ramakrishna said that the rights can only be achieved by fighting. He said that the central government led by BJP is trying to transfer 44 working laws to four working laws. Trade unions fought for decades to achieve these rights, he informed.
“Given these working codes, workers will at least lose the right to create trade unions. They will lose an eight -hour work plan and will be exposed to further exploitation of the work,” he said. The State Secretary also demanded that the minimum wage should be 26,000 GBP per month. He emphasized the need to make contact and outsourcing employees as permanent workers and asked the government to provide the same remuneration for the same work according to the Supreme Court orders.
