CPI Central Control Commission Chairman K. Narayana alleged that the Andhra Pradesh government was stealing land from farmers in Amaravati in the name of Land Pooling Scheme-II and that this would recreate the kind of hostile conditions that prevailed during the YSRCP regime.
Betraying the “farmers who gave oxygen to the TDP” would have its consequences, which Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu should take note of and take corrective action, he observed.
Addressing mediapersons here on Saturday (January 17) along with party state secretary G. Eswaraiah, Mr. Narayana said that the CM was focusing too much on Visakhapatnam, AI etc. instead of prioritizing the development of the capital city and that vast tracts of fertile land taken under LPS were allotted to corporate entities.
Amaravati lacked proper infrastructure for several years after it took shape, but Mr. Chandrababu Naidu has been building hype over it again, he noted, adding that several farmers have met him and apprised him of their woes.
Mr. Narayana suggested Mr. Chandrababu Naidu and his Telangana counterpart A. Revanth Reddy to amicably resolve the river water disputes between the states keeping in mind the interests of the Telugu states. “Tensions have come to a head over the sharing of Godavari and Krishna river waters. CMs should try to defuse the situation,” he advised.
Mr. Narayana said Prime Minister Narendra Modi was deferring to US President Donald Trump when the latter unleashed coercive actions against various countries in support of his strategic agenda.
Mr. Modi was not even able to openly condemn Mr. Trump’s proposal to impose additional tariffs, the CPI leader added.
