Bharatiya boss Janata (BJP) JP Nadda announced on Sunday that the Governor of Maharashtra CP Radhakrishnan will be the vice presidential candidate of the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
The announcement was made soon after the BJP parliamentary council meeting held at the Party headquarters in Nový Dilli in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President of BJP JP Naddy, Interior Minister Amit Shah and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh.
The post of vice -president was released on July 21. His term of office was supposed to end in August 2027.
In his resignation letter to President Droubadim Murm, published on the official Vice President’s account, he wrote: “To give priority to health care and follow the medical council, I resign as vice president of India, immediately, in accordance with Article 67 (a) of the Constitution.”
“We want another vice -president to be unanimously elected, we approached the opposition leader,” JP Nadda said.
The boss of BJP added that he considered CP Radhakrishnan to be a statesman, commanding respect in all parts of society in Tamil Nadu.
In July 2024, Radhakrishhnan was sworn as Governor Maharaštry. Before his appointment, he worked as a governor Jharkhand for almost one and a half years.
“Always focuses on community service”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said he was glad that the NDA family decided to nominate CP Radhakrishnan as Vice President.
“In his long years in public life, Thiro CP Radhakrishnan distinguished her with his determination, humility and intellect,” Prime Minister Modi said, adding, “During the various positions he held, he always focused on community service and seized on his presidential classroom.”
The Prime Minister added that CP Radhakrishnan has a wealth of experience as a deputy and governor of different states.
“His parliamentary interventions have always been criminal. During his governor’s possession, he focused on solving the problems facing ordinary citizens. These experiences have ensured that he has a great knowledge of legislative and constitutional affairs.
Vice -president
The vice president is elected by election universities composed of members of both houses of parliament.
