Following a tip-off from Bajrang Dal activists, the Dharwad police seized a truck full of cowhide that was being transported to Tamil Nadu.
Cowhide was being illegally transported from Miraj to Tamil Nadu for export when the Dharwad Rural Police intercepted and impounded the vehicle on a tip-off on Wednesday night.
After the police intercepted the truck near Jerichoppy on the bypass, they took the driver, identified as Irfan, into custody.
Further investigation is underway.
