The couple reportedly committed suicide in a dense forest on the Rapur-Chitvel ghat road on Tuesday (March 3, 2026). Police said the bodies of the deceased, identified as Alapaka Prasanna Kumar of Muthukur and M. Savitri of Chittamur, were found by residents of Pangili village who had gone to collect honey from the forest.
Pangili VRO Sudhakar and Sub-Inspector Venkat Rajesh reached the spot, identified the bodies using mobile phones found in their purse and informed their family members. The police have registered the case and are investigating.
