
All mosques and Madras in Chhattisgarh were ordered by the WAQF State Council to lift the national flag on the occasion of Independence. Salim Raj, Chairman of the Board of Directors, said that the exercise will determine “who loves the country and who does not”.
Raj said that on Monday, a letter was issued to all Mutawallis (caregivers) and said that tricolor was a “symbol of honor and pride” that is not associated with any religion.
The Letter Addressed to the Mutawallis Said, ”Under the Above Subject, IT is Informed that Oour 78th Independence Day Will Be Celebrated on 15th August 2025 This Year Mosques/Madrasas/Dargahs situated in chhattisgarh.
During the need to give such an order, Mr. Raj said, during his discussion with some Mutawallis refused to raise the tricolor.
Over the religion ‘
“Respecting tricolor is above any religion. They had a problem lifting the tricolor and we were forced to give the order that raising the flag should be made before the main entry of each mosque and in the presence of Imam, Mutawalli or Mesque Committee,” Waqf, Chairman of the Board.
He added that those who did not love tricolor and the country did not have “the right to live in the country of Bharat Mat.” “This will explain that the people who loved this country differ from religious fundamentalists,” he added.
