
The Agriculture and Agriculture Commission called Tellangana M. Kodand Reddy called farmers from the Cotton in the State not to sell their crops to private traders and instead wait for the official order of the Indian company Cotton Corporation (CCI), which will be launched from 21 October.
On Saturday, he spoke to higher CCI officials by phone and emphasized the problems that farmers face due to hasty sale to private traders, which often leads to significant losses. He also pointed out the CCI involvement of some intermediaries in CCI purchases and shortcomings in the awarding of cotton orders in Telangana.
The Commission ordered CCI to ensure that cotton awarding was carried out without causing any loss to cotton farmers. In order to facilitate smooth and fair orders, the Commission has recommended farmers to follow certain instructions, including maintaining moisture up to 12%, while cotton from the fields brought to the purchase centers open, not in bags.
Meanwhile, a meeting between the Minister of Agriculture Tuummala Nagesware Rao, CCI officials and authorship affected 6th October on discussion on cotton award of public procurement.
