
Kozhikode Corporation Council on Saturday (May 17) approved a revised annual plan of the project for the financial year 2025–26, which from the previous financial year included projects of 42 Crore. In April, the Council previously approved an annual project plan worth 246.60 GBP. The spilling projects have now been added before the district planning committee for approval.
Although the revised plan was approved without much discussion, some councilors pointed out several projects that were omitted, which were then added. The opposition leader KC Shobhita pointed out the need to allocate funds for small projects, such as name tags for dispensing and covering the drain boards. She also emphasized the urgency of the completion of certain works before the monsoon, including the removal of older waste from Njeliyanparamba. Mayor Been Philip chaired the meeting.
The Council also approved an application for a 10% mobilization deposit made by infra Projects PVT. Ltd. In connection with the proposed project of wastewater treatment plant (STP) at West Hill.
The company is responsible for creating a network of project 15 billion STP, which is implemented under Amrut 2.0. The infra previously carried out network work for STP in Kothi and Avikkal Thoda before these projects were merged and moved to West Hill. The company noted that it was four years since the beginning of the initial work during which the costs increased significantly. She stated that for the enclosure of materials, tools and hiring workers, as IK, the establishment of temporary offices, storage devices and other basic infrastructure, she said that the procedure of mobilization is necessary. The Company agreed to ensure that the bank guarantee against which the advance may be paid. The AMRUT Main Committee approved the application before handing over to the Company Council.
