Cordelia Cruises, a premium cruise line, is set to resume sailings from Visakhapatnam in June and is offering passengers on the east coast a range of itineraries departing till mid-July, Andhra Pradesh Tourism Forum president K. Vijay Mohan announced on Monday.
The cruise line, which first called the port in 2022 and will return in 2025, will operate three categories of cruises aboard Cordelia Empress as part of its Chennai deployment. Travelers can choose a 2-day Chennai to Visakhapatnam one-way cruise, a 3-day Visakhapatnam to Chennai one-way cruise via Puducherry, or a 5-day return cruise connecting both ports. Departures are scheduled every week from June 22 to July 15.
Jurgen Bailom, president and CEO of Cordelia Cruises, said that Visakhapatnam is increasingly seen not only as a destination but also as a point of departure. “We see strong potential for Visakhapatnam to continue to grow as a cruise gateway, especially for families and groups planning their next holiday together,” he said.
Cordelia Empress is a 692-foot vessel with 48,563 gross tons and 11 decks. She accommodates up to 1,592 guests at double occupancy and up to 1,950 at higher sharing configurations in 796 cabins in five categories. The ship features four restaurants, nine bars and lounges, a casino, spa, climbing wall and live entertainment.
Tickets are available on the company’s website. The company said the itineraries were part of its efforts to expand domestic cruise options and strengthen connectivity between key destinations along the East Coast.
