National Academy of Sciences, India (NASI), President Vinod K. Singh will attend the 15th Convocation of KL Deemed to be University scheduled to be held at the university campus at Vaddeswaram in Guntur district on December 27.
At a press conference on Wednesday, KLU Vice-Chancellor G. Pardhasarady Varma said Mr. Singh would deliver the convocation address, while CEO of the Tata Memorial Centre, Mumbai, and Chairman of IAP’s Pediatric Hemato-Oncology Division, Sripad Banavali, would be the guest of honour.
Mr. Pardhasaradhy said degrees would be awarded to 5,000 students — 184 Ph.D. scientists, more than 700 postgraduate students and more than 4,500 undergraduate students who completed their studies during the academic year 2025. He said the graduates included 340 MBA, 105 M. Tech, 40 Law, 3,200 B. Tech, 12 Architecture, 48 B. Pharmacy, 330 BCA, 325 BBA, 37 B. Com, 18 B. Sc (Visual Communication), 25 B.Sc (Visual Communication), 25 BA.3 Sc., 180 Sc. (Chemistry) and 220 MCA degree holders.
The degrees will be handed over to the students in person, he informed, adding that in addition, 44 students who have demonstrated exceptional academic excellence in the previous academic year will receive gold medals and 40 students will receive silver medals and financial rewards.
University Registrar K. Subba Rao, who is also the coordinator of the convocation, said that elaborate arrangements were made for the smooth running of the event. He said that K. Subramanyam and K. Ramakrishna would be the chief convenors of the event.
University Vice-Chancellor KS Jagannadha Rao, MHS Dean M. Kishore Babu and other officials attended the press meet.
