
The continuous heavy rain triggered large floods, road damage and threats of landslides in the Kannur district, stopping normal life. Key roads, houses and public infrastructure were seriously affected.
In Sreekandapurama, after the water broke, part of the approach near the Chempanthtty Pallam bridge after disturbance, which partially disrupted the operation on the Sreekandapuram-chembanthotty-nadil route. The vehicles were diverted through Karaathumchal and Chemberi.
The low -laid areas along the Irikur and Vanchiyam rivers have been immersed, and growing water levels were reported in the Sreekandapuram and Chemgala rivers.
The landslide in the Karnataka interior led to the floods on the Vannayikadav bridge, which connects Payyavoor and Erukeshi Panchayat.
In Pariyaram, Alakiyam was overflowing and causing water on the road and Kulappuram bridge. The inhabitants blamed the national construction of the motorway and the soil filling in the stream for floods.
Up to 25 houses were flooded in Ambalathara in Payyannuru.
