The ongoing preparations for Sardar Vallabhbhai Memorial for Congress Working Committee (CWC) session within the meeting of the All India (AIC) Congress Committee (AICC) in Ahmedabad on Monday, April 7, 2025.

Before the two -day meeting on April 8 and 9, the leader of Pawan Khera, the leader of Pawan Khera, said that every part of society, whether it was the middle class, Daliti, the trunks or minorities, “feels cheated under the BJP rule and the whole country looks at Congress with hope”.
“While people look at Congress, we look at Gujarat, because this state, the countries of Mahatmy Gandhi and Sardar Patel, have always shown us a way in difficult times. Therefore, our leadership chose to hold the Congress and AICC work committee.
Mr. Khera stressed that despite the slogans as “Congress-Mulkt Bharat” and trying to remove it from the political map, the party is still “the voice of citizens, not just political party”.
Congress chief Gujarat Shaktisinh Gohil said that AICC session will take place in Gujarat after 64 years. “The last one took place in Bhavnagar in 1961,” he added.
Organizational restructuring with a focus on the authorization of the district level will be among the key areas focusing on the meeting. The party would seize the District Congress Committees (DCCS) in terms of decision -making, including the word in choosing candidates for elections, outline liability for standing at the level of the booth and creating another functional unit (mandal committees) between the district level and block level units.
Each DCC would have a political committee (PAC) that could formulate the party’s response to important national political development and those concerning their state, said the consecrated party.
Structural changes would include DCC leading ideological struggle against BJP, as well as any “polarizing narrative” at the ground level, in addition to raising funds for the party and leading media and social media.
Soon after the meeting, Gujarat – a state in which the party has been outside of power since 1995 – the starting point for Congress, which would turn into changes to seize the organization at the local level.
On Tuesday (April 8), the widespread CWC met at the Sardar VallaBhbhai Memorial to approve the proposal at the AO meeting day later (April 9), the AICC meeting will take place, with approximately 1,725 elected AICC members and cooperated members.
The session will take place on the banks of the Sabarmati River between Sabarmati Ashram and Kochrab Ashram. The section is thematic “Nyaypath: Sankalp, Samarpan and Sangharsh”.
It is expected that several important resolutions will be approved on Wednesday. Mahatma Gandhi and Sardar Patel could be brought there a separate resolution.
