Congress to face setback in 2028 assembly elections: Former BJP MLA Narasimha Naik
The Congress will suffer a major setback in the 2028 assembly elections without outgoing Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, said former BJP MLA Narasimha Naik (Rajugouda).
He spoke to journalists here on Saturday. Claiming to be an admirer of Mr. Siddaramaiah since childhood, Mr. Naik expressed displeasure over the situation, which he said forced Mr. Siddaramaiah to step down mid-term.
“The Congress made a mistake by forcing his resignation without considering his seniority, political strength and experience. This would definitely be a setback for the Congress in the upcoming parliamentary polls and also challenge the Chief Minister nominee DK Shivakumar to lead the party without Mr. Siddaramaiah,” Mr. Naik said.
He recalled when former Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa tearfully resigned and said that Mr Siddaramaiah too broke down after his resignation. Congress will face what we (BJP) faced after Mr. Yediyurappa’s resignation, Mr. Naik said.
Mr. Naik expressed confidence in winning the elections in 2028. “We will form the government without any doubt,” he added.
