The leader of the Kanhaiya Kumar, on Saturday (October 4, 2025), referring to the upcoming Pirpainti power plant in the election district of Bhagalpur in the election -bound district of Bhagalpur, said “the government of the vote is also a land thief”.
“For a few days, there was a talk about a bihar survey, and people were making local block offices and maintaining their ground papers in their hands, but the real purpose of the government was to identify land that would be grabbed and hand over them to their friends.” He asked the leader of the congress while addressed media people at the side of the party in Sadaqat Ashram in Patna.

He also mentioned that the energy project was launched by the previous United Progressive Alliance (UPA), but later was practically handed over to the Adani group “under dubious conditions”.
The party MLA Shakeel Ahmad Khan and Rajesh Rathhore spokesman accompanied Mr. Kumar at a press meeting.
Previously, the leader of Congress Pawan Kher accused that whenever and anywhere he came to the assembly and BJP “he feels losing voting, he resorts to such gifts Adani”.
“There was a formula, as in Maharashtra, Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh, and energy projects were given to the Adani group before the elections to the assembly. Whenever and anywhere (BJP) they feel losing votes, such gifts are given to Adani,” he said.
Mr. Kumar also questioned the power supply rates agreed for the project. “In other Group Adani Group, the Group concludes energy contracts for a fixed rate of 3 to 3.5 GBP per unit, but here in Bihar (Pirpinti) a contract for 6 GBP per unit was commissioned,” he noted.
The project is likely to be entered within five years. The government of the main Minister Nitish Kumar led by the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Bihar allegedly “handed over” 1,050 acres of land for 2,400 MW Ultra-Supercritical thermal energy project in Pirpainti in the Bhagalpur district.
“The government took land from farmers for an old rate, but sold it to the department store at a new rate … It was also a clear violation of the land agreement,” he accused.
The team of the opposition Communist Party of India (Marxist-Lenin) also recently visited Pirpainti to prepare a reconnaissance report on the upcoming thermal energy project and land from farmers. The team later reportedly violated the land agreement by the government and also reported on the woes of farmers whose countries were interested in the project.
“This energy project is expected to generate massive profit about one lakh crore rupees, which will now go to the cash registers Modi Ji (Prime Minister Narendra Modi), instead of ordinary people in Bihar,” Mr. Kumar accused. He also claimed that “the project was supposed to be a joint venture between the state and the central government, but later the Modi government on Wednesday withdrew the project’s support on Wednesday.
Previously, it was said that the thermal energy signed a 25 -year Agreement on the power supply (PSA) at Bihar State Power Company Limited (BSPGCL) for the supply of electricity from the upcoming thermal energy project in Pirpainti in the Bhagalpur district, about 300 km from the state capital. In August, the agreement followed a letter on the Award (LOA) issued by BSPGCL company Adani Power.
The Pirpainti thermal energy project is expected to generate a direct and indirect job opportunity of 10,000-12,000 and 3,000 permanent jobs “as soon as he is functional” during the construction phase. The interconnection of coal for the energy project was granted in the Shakti policy (Koyl (coal) (coal) scheme in India), which provides fuel supply to the manufacturer “transparently and efficiently”.
