Congress on Tuesday (April 29, 2025) said that India would expect to be strongly against any possible help of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Pakistan, which the multilateral agency could hire at its meeting on 9 May.
The Secretary General of the Congress responsible for Communication Jairam Ramesh, in the post of social media platform, claimed that the MMF Executive Council had met to consider a Pakistani application for a new loan of $ 1.3 billion of the durability and sustainability of the global financial institution.
“Congress expects India to strongly oppose this help,” said Mr. Ramesh, who shared the image of the Calendar of the Executive Council of the IMF.
The calendar has shown that the Executive Board will meet in order to discuss “the first review in an extended arrangement within a facility with an extended fund, a request for a change of performance criteria and an agreement for resistance and sustainability facilities”.
Separately, Congress also asked the center about the steps he took to ensure the safe return of the border security forces (BSF) Jawan Purnam Sahu, who unintentionally wandered to the Pakistan side of the border.
Pakistanian Rangers arrested the BSF from the agricultural field along Pandjáb’s Ferozepur 23, April 23, the day after the terrorist attack Pahalgam.
