Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday (Oct 31, 2025) said State Congress president and MP Gaurav Gogoi is a “Pakistani agent, planted by a foreign power”.
Mr Sarma and the BJP have alleged that Mr Gogoi has Pakistani connections through his British wife, which the Congress leader has denied.
“Gaurav Gogoi is a Pakistani agent, it is purely him. He was planted by a foreign power in our country,” Mr Sarma told reporters here on the sidelines of a programme.
Mr Gogoi had earlier claimed that the allegations leveled by the CM were like a “C-grade Bollywood film” which will flop because the people of Assam understand everything.
Mr Sarma also said he would reveal “evidence” against Mr Gogoi once the probe into the death of singer Zubeen Garg was completed.
“I am not calling a press conference now to share evidence because some are saying that the Zubeen Garg issue is being diverted,” he said.
