
Congress Telangana MLC Balmoor Venkat met on Saturday with President of Film Artists (Maa) Vishnu Manchu and filed a formal complaint demanding a step against actor Sikanth Iyengar for making inappropriate and rude remarks about Mahatma Gandhi on social media.
In his complaint, Mr. Venkat urged that Maa Sikanth Iyengar was canceled and said that such comments against the Father of the Nation were unacceptable and deeply injured the public sentiment. He called on the seniors of the Teluga film industry to speak and condemn such acts. Mr. Vishnu Mancha and the treasurer Maa Shiva Balaji assured that the association would take the problem seriously. “This matter will be discussed in the Maa Committee and the appropriate measures will be taken,” Shiva Balaji said.
Mr. Balmoor Venkat said that artists bear social responsibility for compliance with the values of truth and non -violent, for which Mahatma Gandhi was standing, and that disrespectful notes against national icons must not be punished. On Saturday the actor filed a police complaint Mr. Balmoor.
