Congress MLC Dinesh Gooli Gowda asked the Karnatak government to bear more interest that he demanded on behalf of the state bank to borrow more loans and help the state’s goal to produce food.
Between 2024-25, the loan provided a loan of 5,450 GBP Crore Loans State Apex Bank for a 4% interest rate that allowed cooperative banks to provide loans to farmers. In the years 2025-26, however, NABARD limited the amount of loan to 2,700 GBP Crore to APEX Bank to 4% interest, he said.
However, the aim of the state government is to distribute 28,000 crore 37 lakhs in 2025-26.
MLC said that NABARD is ready to provide additional loans, as required by Karnataka, but charges 8.25% for the loan (4.25% more).
