Congress MLC Balmoor Venkat on Saturday filed a complaint with the wing of cyber crime of Hyderabad against actor Telugu Sikanth Krishnaswamy Iyengar for allegedly derogatory comments against Mahatma Gandhi on various social media platforms.
Mr. Venkat claimed that the actor in a video shared on the social media questioned the Gandhi designation as the “father of the nation” and appreciated Nathuram Gods and identified the comments deeply disrespectful.
He asked the police to register the criminal case and call on the Teluga film industry to take a clear attitude.
The wing official stated that the complaint would be submitted to the court for permission to initiate the investigation.
