Congress MLC Balmoor Venkat has filed a complaint with the Director General of Police (DGP) alleging that former ministers KT Rama Rao (KTR) and Harish Rao are trying to intimidate officials investigating the wiretapping case.
Speaking to reporters at the DGP’s office, Mr. Venkat alleged that the two leaders are threatening the SIT officials and making statements aimed at instilling fear among the investigating officers, thereby trying to influence the course of the investigation.
He said he has submitted a complaint along with supporting evidence to the Additional DGP to seek immediate legal action. According to him, the officials were allegedly given warnings that they would be “dealt with” when the accused returned to power.
The MLC described such conduct as a serious crime and warned that intimidation of investigators could also lead to influencing witnesses, which would undermine the integrity of the investigation. He demanded the arrest of Mr. Rama Rao and Mr. Harish Rao to ensure that the investigation continued unimpeded.
