The leader of Congress and Member of Rajya Sabha Vivek Tankha wrote to Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, the chairman of the upper house to remind him of the waiting proposal, signed by 55 deputies and seek to remove justice Shekhar Yadav of Allahabad High Court due to the alleged incorrect feeling “.
“There have been questions about the authenticity of some signatures, including my signature inquiry. I explained, and allegedly other MPs had to clarify the Secretariat of Rajya Sabha that the signatures were real and correct.
He said that MEPs were present, including P. Chidambarama and Digvijaya Singh from Congress, independent chapels of Sibal, John Brittas from the Indian Communist Party (Marxista), Rashtriya Janata Dal’s Manoj Jha and P. Wilson of Davida Munnetr Kazhagam. A total of 55 opposition deputies shifted a proposal for a prosecution against Judge Yadava 13 December 2024 for alleged “communal” notes in the court.
“We ask to consider the pendant of this proposal properly because it reflects the collective concerns of members of this August,” Mr. Tankha said.
The necessary parliamentary investigation
The Congress MP also expressed its opposition to the Union’s government plan to remove the justice Yashwant Varma, who was charged with a three -member committee established by the former main judge of India Sanjiv Khann.
In March, a large number of half -burned currency notes were obtained during the fire during the official residence of the justice of Varma, while working as a judge of the High Court in Delhi. The Supreme Court then moved him to the High Court in Allahabad and, after an internal investigation, judged Judge Varma with all his judicial work. Now the government has addressed political parties to shift the proposal to eliminate the judge of Varma on the basis of a report on the Supreme Court investigation.
“The report of its own committee is intended only for the main judge of India and other judges of the Supreme Court and cannot represent the basis for removal,” Mr. Tankha said, claiming that the parliament must carry out a new investigation under the Judges Investigation Act.
