Congress marches to SC today to demand an end to ‘election hori’: Are metros, schools and offices open today? | Today’s news

Opposition parties will march to the Supreme Court at 1.30 pm on Monday, with Congress MPs Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge seeking a meeting with Chief Justice of India (CJI) Surya Kant to raise the issue of alleged ‘chori voting’.

Both Gandhi and Kharge wrote to CJI Surya Kant to meet on Monday between 4:00 pm and 5:00 pm to hand over the memorandum, demanding an end to ‘vote chori’, resignation of CEC Gyanesh Kumar, stoppage of special intensive review (SIR) of electoral rolls and switch back to paper-based voting format.

However, the Chief Justice refused to meet Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi over the ‘volte chori’ charge, saying that such matters are sub judice in the Supreme Court, sources told PTI.
