Kerala Congress led by PJ Joseph, who opens a new front with the Congress Keral (M), announced the state protest, demanding the renewal of the Karunya benevolent fund, the flagship of medical assistance established during the previous reign of UDF.
As part of the campaign, the youth wing of the Keral Youth Front (KYF) will start a number of protests throughout the state since July 15, with the state inauguration in Kottayam, which is to be led by the chairman of PJ Joseph. The following protests will take place in Kollam, Alappuzha, IDUKKI, Thrissur and Kozhikode.
Meeting the leadership of the Kyf State demanded that the LDF government take immediate steps to fully restore the Karunya fund, which was successfully carried out to ensure free treatment of economically disadvantaged families, but later interrupted in the current regime.
“The current crisis, where even government hospitals deny treatment for patients, must be taken seriously. They have prescribed medicines and surgical equipment from private stores, patients across Kerala are forced to carry huge expenses outside the pocket.
Kyf also urged the government to deal with deplorable conditions in government hospitals, especially in faculties, where patients are often forced to lie on the floor due to lack of beds and basic infrastructure.
By the way, the Benevolent Fund Karunya was originally introduced by KM Mani, the founder of the Keral (M) congress (M), during his functional Finance Minister in the UDF government. The aim of this regime was to provide financial assistance to health care with an annual upper limit of 5 Lakh for an eligible family.
The veteran leader of Congress Keral in the commentary on the last campaign said that this movement is focused on the Congress of Keral (M), more than a focus on LDF.
“This is our opportunity to emphasize how the visionary system conceptualized KM Mani, the Patriarch of Congress Keral, is undermined by the government supported by its own party,” he explained.
