Congress Secretary General (organization) KC Venugopal wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to intervene with the Yemeni authorities and save Indian sister Nimisha Priya, who was sentenced to execution in Yemen.

Mrs. Priya, who comes from Kollengode in the Palakkad district, was convicted in 2020 for the murder of her Yemeni business partner in July 2017.
In his letter of 10 July, the Prime Minister Mr. Venugopal said, “While the efforts were developed by the Council of Actions and her family to negotiate with the victim’s family to accept” blood money “(Diyah), which could potentially save her life.
He called on the Prime Minister to intervene “the highest priority curling all possible diplomatic measures with the Yemeni authorities” to get a nurse from a series of death.
Last November, the Supreme Judicial Council dismissed its appeal and the country’s public prosecutor ordered that its sentence be made on July 16th.
The Communist Party of India Rajya Sabha wrote MP P. Sandosh Kumar on Thursday on Thursday to the Minister of Outside S. Jaishankar and urged him to use “every possible diplomatic and humanitarian channel” to ensure that the sister’s execution.
Mrs. Priya is currently held in Sana’a’s central prison.
