Congress has condemned the vandalism of YSR statue in Nandyal
Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) Vice President (In-charge, Administration) Kolanukonda Shivaji strongly condemned the vandalism of former Chief Minister Dr. of YS Rajasekhar Reddy in Nandyal district by unknown persons.
Addressing the media at Andhra Ratna Bhavan in Vijayawada on Monday (June 1), he urged the government to take strict action against those responsible and ensure that such incidents do not recur.
Referring to the commencement of operations of the South Coast Railway Zone from June 1 with headquarters at Visakhapatnam, Mr. Sivaji welcomed the development. However, he criticized the current governments for claiming credit for the project.
He pointed out that the South Coast Railway Zone was proposed and incorporated in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act, 2014, which was enacted by the Congress-led UPA government. He added that the orders of the Railway Minister and the Railway Board recognize this fact and questions the propriety of the present governments claim for an initiative that arose during the Congress government.
Touching on other issues, the Congress leader said that migration from Rayalaseema is increasing due to lack of job opportunities. He also claimed that students face difficulties in getting education loans, which affects their prospects for higher studies.
