Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said the Congress government is spending heavily on education to secure the future of children and aims to make a millionaire women millionaire within five years.
“We have dedicated this government exclusively to the people as per the promises we made to them and we are making it accountable to the people,” he said at a public meeting at Gandhasiri village in Mudigonda mandal of Khammam district on Thursday.
The Deputy CM was speaking after laying the foundation stone for the reconstruction of the Kakatiya-era Shiva temple in Gandhasiri.
He said the 60,000-member Indira Mahila Dairy in Madhira would become a benchmark for the nation. Each woman gets two milking animals and a prestigious dairy industry gradually emerges. Indira Mahila Kranti Pathakam was scrapped by the previous government. But the Congress government has revived interest-free loans for women to make them entrepreneurs, he added.
To ensure that students can compete globally, the Congress government has increased mess fees by 20% and cosmetic fees by 200% as per market rates. Young India Integrated Residential Schools are being set up in each assembly constituency with an investment of ₹2,500 crore, he noted.
He added that one such school is coming up at Laxmipur village in Bonakal mandal of Madhir constituency.
He recalled his interaction with a poor girl named Priyanka during his statewide padayatra as leader of the Congress Legislature Party in 2023. “I promised her that when Congress comes to power, every poor houseless family will get Rs 5 crore to build a house. Now that Congress is in power, houses are being built in Indiramma for all the homeless and Priyantedka herself said that he is all-powerful.”
Mr. Vikramarka said a robust system is now in place to ensure uninterrupted power supply even when demand increases. Now 200 units of free power is being supplied to domestic consumers, he said and outlined the Congress government’s initiatives in the power sector.
He said the government has filled 70,000 posts in the last two years, conducted Group 1 and Group 2 recruitment examinations and issued appointment letters to selected candidates.
“As a son of Madhira, I will devote myself to the welfare of the people of Telangana,” Mr. Vikramarka said to applause.
