Congress on Tuesday (October 14, 2025) criticized the government of Modi after US President Donald Trump publicly appreciated the Pakistani army of the main field marshal Asim Munir and questioned his consequences for India.
The party said Mr. Trump “supported Indian enemies” on the global scene, despite repeated demands on the close friendship of President Narendra Modi with the US President.
At the summit of the world leaders in Egypt on Monday (October 13), Mr. Trump invited Prime Minister Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif to speak, call him and General Munir “friends of peace”.

“President Trump hosted Field Marshal Asim Munir for unprecedented lunch at the White House on June 18, 2025 – the same man whose inflammatory statements preceded Pahalgam’s terrorist attack organized by Pakistan,” Ramesh said about the US President again.

In a separate x post congress whip in Lok Sabha, Manickam Tagore, he said, “The world is not standing with India, now praises those who focus on India.”
“It’s not diplomacy, it’s a disaster,” said Mr. Tagore, adding, “Where is the 56 -inch diplomacy now?
“When India’s enemies are approved and our PM is silent, it is clear – Modi’s foreign policy collapsed. Loudly on propaganda, mute on national pride,” Tagore said.
At the Summit in Egypt, Mr. Trump also said that he believes that “India and Pakistan will live very nicely together,” he describes India as “a great country with a very good friend upstairs”.
The Pakistani Prime Minister, who responded with a smile, proposed to nominate Mr. Trump at the Nobel Peace Prize for “saving millions of lives”.
The US President repeatedly demanded recognition for mediation of peace between India and Pakistan in May, claiming that after surgery Sindoor – Indian military retaliation on April 22, Pahalgam’s terrorist attack killed by 26 civilians.
India, however, rejects any third -party intervention and claims that the cessation of hostility has emerged from direct interviews between the CEO of the military operations of both nations.
