
Former Rajasthan main Minister Ashok Gehlot said on Friday that Congress is for Hindi, but English opens new ways in the world for all.
Gehlot’s comments came the day after the reported remarks of the Minister of Domestic Amita Shah about English.
“The Congress Party, Rahul Gandhi, and all of us are also for Hindi, but English is an international language that opens new ways in the world for all,” Gehlot said in a post on X.

“Interior Minister Shah and many BJP-RSS people are against English, although people in the country know that most Union ministers are studying abroad and confuse people here,” Congress’s leader said.
During our childhood we also became English, but it became a need for an hour, so we also changed our “approach”, he said.
Today, in the era of computers, the Internet, artificial intelligence young generation in life is quite successful through English, Gehlot said.
The previous Congress government in Rajasthan has introduced about 3700 English secondary schools Mahatma Gandhi to support education in English between poor and secondary and rural areas. Because of this decision, about 6.50 lakh students began to receive education in English, he said.
The leader of Congress added: “The BJP government in the state tried to close these English secondary schools, but it could not take such a step because of its popularity among the public.”
