Congress President Maharashtra Harshwardhan Sapkal claimed on Friday (May 2, 2025) that the recently published 100 -day report on the performance of the state government again revealed basic tensions between the ruling partners of Mahayuti Alliance.
Mr. Sapkal argued that the main Minister Devendra Fadnavis used the report card to emphasize the excellent performance of the department under his direct control and at the same time reduced the efforts of those managed by the Alliance partners, namely Shiv Sen and the nationalist congress side (NCP).
Mr. Fadnavis, who took over the office in December after a significant victory of Mahayuti in the elections to the Assembly, introduced a 100 -day plan focused on the goal for each department. On Thursday, he announced that 12 out of 48 departments achieved 100% of its goals, while 18 others exceeded 80%.
In the commentary on this report Mr. Sapkal said that the last 100 days were marked by a visible struggle for power among the voters of Mahayuti, with frequent resignation requirements, including the requirements of CM. He pointed out that one minister had to withdraw and the other convicted in this period.
He talked about Dhananjay Munde NCP, who resigned after his assistant was appointed accused in the case of Sarpanch murder and Minister of Agriculture Manicrao Kokate, who was convicted of cheating and counterfeiting from 1995.
Mr. Sapkal also questioned the credibility of the performance evaluation, especially the high ranking, which could have been the department of women and children, which he, according to him, could not fulfill his promise to increase the monthly support of the Ladki Bahin scheme from 1,500 GBP to 2,100 GBP. “That’s ridiculous,” he said.
“CM has saved any efforts to demonstrate the success of its departments and undermined those who headed by its allies,” he said, quoting the city development department led by the deputy CM and the head of Shiv Sena Ekath Shinde, as an example of deliberate assessment low.
According to Mr. Sapkal, the news card not only emphasizes the internal friction between the ruling parties, but also suggests that Fadnavis promotes dominance within the alliance. “This government has damaged the democratic process in the state,” he said.
The leader of Congress was further accused by the Mahayuti of the election illegal practices and questioned an inexplicable increase in 75 voters in the Maharištře after the elections of Lok Sabha. “They are not even qualified to release the report card,” he said.
Mr. Sapkal also welcomed the center step to carry out the caste census and call it a triumph for the leader of the Rahul Gandhi Congress, who defended for it for a long time. However, he warned that BJP must not turn it into a “election trick”.
