Special Public Security Act, Maharashtra, 2024, sailed through the State Assembly since 10 July and the next day to the Legislative Council with minimal opposition benches resistance.
While the Communist Party of India raised objections, spokesman Rahul Narvekar said that the bill, which voted by voice vote, was approved by most.

Nevertheless, no comment was recorded or the council or the Congress MLA explicitly opposed the bill on the floor of the house.
Hind joined the proposal of a seven -page disagreement, which was sent by the party’s leadership MLA 10 July, and asked them to record their opposition.

The legislators of the opposition Maharashtra organized a unique protest with pumpkins on the steps of Vidhan Bhavan in Mumbai and claimed that the public had received “nothing” from the government during the monsoon meeting. Using slogans, such as a “exemption from a loan – pumpkin” and “Jobs – pumpkin”, they focused on the ruling alliance to ignore key questions influencing farmers, trunks, students and workers. Congress leaders admitted that the MLA could not follow the party’s attitude in the lower house, but claimed that the legislators had opposed the bill during the voice vote. “I didn’t know that the bill was to be submitted that day. If I were in the house, I would tear it into pieces,” Vijay Wadettiwar leader told reporters on Thursday.
The Congress sources said the party leadership took a serious view of the delay by the MLA and Mr. Wadetiwar was issued a notice of explaining why he was not dealing with the assembly.
However, CLP leader refused to receive any notice.
The party leadership sent to legislators on the same day to legislators, which gave an analysis of problems with the bill. “We all received a disapproving remark, but after the bill was already approved.
