The ARUNACHAL PRADESH Congress unit (October 1, 2025) condemned the alleged threat of the death of Rahul Gandhi by former leader Akhil Bharatiy Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) during the recent panel discussion, and asked for apologies to Bharatiy Janat).
Former State President ABVP, a student organization associated with the RSS, while representing the BJP in a television debate, reportedly noted that Mr. Gandhi “will be shot in his chest”.
“It is not only an irresponsible remark, but a criminal act of intimidation, reflecting the culture of Hate BJP-RSS and its ignoring democratic values,” said President Arunacal Pradesh (APCC) Bosiram Siram in his statement.
The party was looking for a “immediate arrest” of a person and “a public apology from BJP management, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Interior Minister Amit Shah.”
“The threat to the leader of the opposition, the voice of the people, is nothing but an attack on the democracy itself,” said Mr. Siaram.
Congress was also looking for parliamentary and legal warranties to ensure the dignity and security of the opposition leader.
“Such open threats of Rahul Gandhím cannot be ignored or rejected … No threat or intimidation will silence his struggle for the truth, justice and democracy,” the statement said.
