The Congress will launch a political and organizational campaign from June 18, coinciding with Goa Revolution Day, to strengthen the party and prepare for future electoral battles in the coastal state, senior officials said on Saturday (June 6, 2026).
The decision was taken in a meeting chaired by AICC secretary and Goa in-charge Manikrao Thakare, they added.
Addressing a press conference, Thakare said the party would use the historic opportunity of ‘Kranti Din’ to unveil its future strategy, announce key organizational restructuring measures and intensify its campaign against the BJP government.
“All internal discussions and differences within the party have been amicably resolved. The Congress is united, focused and committed to strengthening the organization across Goa,” he said.
The reconstitution of the Goa Pradesh Congress Executive Committee and other organizational bodies will be announced soon as part of a comprehensive restructuring, Mr. Thakre added.
“Extensive discussions have taken place on the party’s future road map, organizational expansion and preparations for upcoming political challenges. The party will launch a series of programs to highlight public issues and expose the failures of the BJP government,” he said.
The meeting was attended, among others, by AICC co-responsible Dr. Anjali Nimbalkar, Goa Pradesh Congress Committee President Girish Chodankar, Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao and Working Presidents MK Shaikh, Altone D’Costa and Carlos Alvares Ferreira.
Mr. Chodankar said the party would hold a convention to encourage local workers and strengthen the organization.
“Congress is determined to make Goa free from bad governance, corruption and anti-people policies,” he said, urging leaders and workers to intensify public outreach.
