Olympic legend Carl Lewis has provided key advice Neera Chopra how he can stay upstairs. Neeraj had a season up and down this year because he could break the barrier of 90 meters but couldn’t prevent your crown at the World Athletics Championship. This ended the seven -year strip of Indian aces, which won the medal for the event when it finished 8th in Tokyo.
Neerai promised to return stronger in the coming year and Lewis shared what he had to do forward. The nine -fold Olympic gold medalist said that Neeraj must start competing with himself rather than the world in the future.
Lewis introduced an example of his career and said that every time he tried to overcome himself. The American legend said that Neera had to focus on self -harm.
“First of all, they haven’t had more Olympic gold medalists yet. This is an attitude. Number two for him. What happens if you become number one in the world? Do you no longer compete the world. You are competing against each other.”
“So my proposal is to make sure that every time you go out, you compete against each other. I was number one in the world for 10 years at 100 meters, for example. The first time it was 10-0-0, it was 9-8-6.
Neeraj finished second in the Diamond League finals and in 2026 he would look for a better performance.
“Find inspiration”
Lewis also had a message to aspiring athletes and told them to find inspiration to help them continue.
“Well, find inspiration that keeps you running. Do not accept the fact that just because you weren’t a gold medalist, you can’t be,” Lewis said.
