
The Kerala Cabinet on Friday decided to increase the financial assistance provided to dependents of persons who died due to wildlife attacks from ₹ 10 crore to ₹ 14 crore. In a statement, Forest Minister AK Saseendran added that compensation for the dependents of those who died due to snake, bee and wasp attacks has also been increased from ₹ 4 crore to ₹ 10 crore. In addition, financial assistance has been increased for people who have sustained injuries in wildlife attacks and require hospitalization for more than one week, with the maximum assistance set at ₹2,000.
